About us

Khol Khel is a space where play and craft meet as ways of knowing, creating, and living. We draw from the timeless traditions of Indian games and toys—exploring how they were made and how they were played, why they mattered, and what they continue to teach us today.

We work with artisans and communities to revive the practices of play, reimagine them for our times, and bring them back into collective life. Each handcrafted set—whether Ashta Chamma, Baagh Bakri, Chaupar, or Chaturanga is a bridge between grandparents and grandchildren, acquaintances and friendships.

Just as a handwoven textile carries within it stories of time, labor, and lineage, every game carries a way of thinking, relating, and imagining society.

Khol Khel is an invitation to slow down, to sit together, and to rediscover play as a living craft of resilience, reflection, and joy.
